Here's How It All Started...
I began thinking about the concept for Sensational Beginnings almost 20 years ago when I left my nursing career to start a family. After 10 challenging years practicing and teaching maternal-child nursing, it was time for me to experience parenting firsthand. All those child development principals I’d been preaching were quite a challenge to put into practice with one, then two babies. Thus, the birth of Sensational Beginnings, a catalog of toys and products for infants and toddlers that stimulate their senses while promoting interaction between parent and child. I chose to sell my products by catalog to give parents the convenience of shopping from home rather than dealing with the frustration and aggravation of retail stores. What can be more convenient than around the clock shopping at your fingertips! Since that first catalog mailing, we’ve expanded our offerings to provide products for children from infant through preteen years. Over eight years ago we added our successful online catalog. For the site re-launch this fall, we’re thrilled to offer an all-new gift center, a wish list registry, live chat, a simplified check-out process, a photo gallery and much more. Despite our growth and evolution we still have the same mission – to provide parents with top quality products that incorporate early learning and fun in an experience that delights the child’s senses. Silvert's was established in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada in 1930. Silvert's began as a small town department store and by the 1960s had developed into a chain of department stores across southwestern Ontario. Silvert's motto from its inception, of "customer service and quality," proved to be a guiding force in the company's destiny. With Silvert's motto in place, a strong customer loyalty was established and maintained. As Silvert's customers aged, their need for service increased.
